By default, TalentLMS displays courses in alphabetical order in the course catalog. One way to organize how your courses are displayed is to group them in Categories.
When using categories, courses are sorted alphabetically within their Category.
To create categories, either as an Administrator or an Instructor, you have two options:
A. Create them from your Admin view/panel
B. Create them from the course settings
A. From your Admin view/panel
1. Log in to your portal as an Administrator.
2. Click Categories (1).
3. Click Add category (2).
4. Give your category a Name (3).
5. Select a Parent category (4) if the category you need to add is a subcategory of an existing one.
6. Set a Price (5) for selling courses in a category as a bundle.
7. Click Add category (6).
B. From the course settings
As an Administrator:
1. Log in to your portal and click Courses (1).
2. Click Add course (2).
3. Give your course a Name.
4. Give your category a name and click (+add category) (3).
5. Fill the rest of the course details and click Update course (4).
As an Instructor:
1. Log in to your portal and click Courses (1).
2. Click Add course (2).
3. Give your course a Name.
4. Give your category a name and click (+add category) (3).
5. Fill the rest of the course details and click Update course (4).
Note: The default course category on TalentLMS is "General". When creating a course, if no category is selected or created, TalentLMS automatically puts the course under the “General” category. |
