TalentLMS lets you reuse your content multiple times in as many courses as you need. That way, your courses work together as a type of “learning library”.
For example, if you put a survey at the end of a course for your learners to share their experience, you can then clone the survey and reuse it in other courses too.
Note: You can clone content only from courses you own as an instructor. |
Here’s how to use your “learning library” in a few simple steps:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as Instructor and go to a course page.
2. Click Add (1) and, from the drop-down list, choose Clone from another course (2).3. From the Select course (3) drop-down list, choose the course that contains the unit you want to reuse.
4. From the Select unit (4) drop-down list, choose the unit you want to reuse.
5. Click Clone (5) to copy the unit to your current course.6. The cloned unit is added to the course content with its original name and the indication “(clone)”. Point to the cloned unit and click edit to give it a new name and change any other element you need.
Note: The objects comprising the original unit (e.g., test or survey questions, xAPI objects, etc.) are all included in the cloned content so they can be reused regardless of what happens to the original items. |
If you need a faster way to reuse content from your courses, you can always link to a unit instead of cloning it, as described in this article. A linked unit is pulled from its source every time you access the course, and it’s entirely dependent on the original unit. When the original is updated, all linked units are automatically updated.
