OpenSesame is a cloud-based platform offering 20,000+ curated courses to help businesses train employees in areas like compliance, IT, and business skills.
With TalentLMS, you can seamlessly integrate your OpenSesame account to easily access and manage your course catalog within your TalentLMS portal.
Follow the steps below to enable the integration and import your OpenSesame courses into TalentLMS.
To connect your OpenSesame account:
1. Log in to TalentLMS as an Administrator and navigate to Account & Settings > Integrations (1).
2. Click the OpenSesame tile (2).
3. In the drawer that opens, Enable (3) the feature, enter your account ID provided by OpenSesame (4) and then, click Save (5).
To add OpenSesame courses to your TalentLMS course collection:
1. Whilst logged in as an Administrator in TalentLMS, access the Course store (1) from the side menu and select the OpenSesame (2) tab.
2. In the TalentLMS Course store, you’ll only see OpenSesame courses that have been added to your course lists in OpenSesame. To manage these, visit www.opensesame.com and log in with your administrator account that holds your course licenses.
If you’ve created or received any course lists, you can send courses directly from there. To do so, navigate to My Lists in the OpenSesame navigation bar.

3. Clicking the plus sign (+) will add this course to your TalentLMS collection. Alternatively, click on a course card to see more about the OpenSesame course, and then click the Get this course (3) button.
A message will appear stating, “The course was successfully added to your portal”.
To edit an OpenSesame course in TalentLMS:
1. Whilst logged in as an Administrator or Instructor, navigate to Courses (1) from the menu.
2. Select an OpenSesame course and click Edit course (2).
3. Click Course options (3) to access the various tabs, where you can change the course price, availability, certificate, and more.
| Note: The course name, description, and image cannot be edited in TalentLMS. These details are synced from OpenSesame and will automatically update in TalentLMS whenever changes are made in OpenSesame. |
4. Click Preview (4), to see how the course from a learner's perspective.

Some more useful information:
- TalentLMS automatically syncs with OpenSesame every hour, checking for updates or new additions to your selected courses and their metadata (like title, description, and image). Any changes made in OpenSesame will be reflected in TalentLMS.
- If a course is removed from OpenSesame or retired by the publisher, it will automatically deactivate in TalentLMS. It will no longer appear in search results or learner transcripts but will still be visible in the Timeline.
- Since OpenSesame courses use SCORM files, course completion data is recorded in SCORM unit reporting (Reports > Learning activities > SCORM) within TalentLMS.
- Additionally, reporting is available in your OpenSesame administrator account. To access learner activity, go to the OpenSesame menu, select Dashboard or Insights, and then choose Activity Report.
