Connect your TalentLMS account with LinkedIn Learning to access its extensive library of courses directly on your portal and assign training to your learners.
| Note: The feature is available on all Grow, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Setting up the LinkedIn integration is only available through the new interface, provided that you have a Business plan on LinkedIn Learning. |
To set up your integration, follow these steps:
Step 1: Prepare in LinkedIn Learning
1. In a new tab, open LinkedIn Learning Admin and navigate to Account & Settings Authenticate, or follow the link https://www.linkedin.com/learning-admin/settings/authentication/sso.
2. Select Add new SSO LTI 1.3, enter a name on the Basics tab, and click Next. Keep this tab open. You need it for the next steps.
Step 2: Add LinkedIn Learning in TalentLMS
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as Administrator and go to Account & Settings > Integrations (1).
2. Under the section External content | LTI 1.3, click on LinkedIn Learning (2).
3. Click on the switch (3) to enable it.
4. Copy the values from the LinkedIn Learning configuration tab from step 1 and paste them into TalentLMS using this mapping:
- Issuer URL → https://www.linkedin.com/
- Launch URL → OIDC Redirect URL
- Redirect URL → OIDC Redirect URL
- Login URL → OIDC Connect Initialization
- Keyset URL → Keyset URL
5. After the form in TalentLMS has been filled, click Save (4) at the bottom of the drawer.
6. Copy the Client ID (5) and the Deployment ID (6). You need it for the next steps.
Step 3: Finish setup in LinkedIn Learning (Registration and LTI Advantage tabs)
1. In the Registration tab, fill in the values as follows:
- Client ID and Deployment ID that you copied previously from TalentLMS
- OIDC Issuer → Your TalentLMS domain (no trailing slashes). e.g. https://mydomain.talentlms.com
- Platform OIDC Authentication URL → https://mydomain.talentlms.com/rest-api/v1/integrations/lti/launch
- Does your platform use a keyset URL or a public key? → Keyset URL
- Platform OAuth 2.0 Keyset URL: → https://mydomain.talentlms.com/rest-api/v1/integrations/lti/jwks
- Platform OAuth 2.0 Token Retrieval URL → https://mydomain.talentlms.com/rest-api/v1/integrations/lti/token
- External ID Parameter Name → Subject
2. Switch to the LTI Advantage tab, enable the options Enable LTI Advantage, Reporting, Deep Linking, and add your TalentLMS domain URL, e.g., mydomain.talentlms.com, to the allowlist. Click Add, then Save.
3. Switch your new connection to Active (1).
Step 4: Add a LinkedIn Learning unit
1. Go to Courses, click the course you wish to add a LinkedIn unit to, and then click Edit course.
2. Click Add (1) > External content | LTI 1.3, then select LinkedIn Learning (2).
3. In the pop-up window, find the course you wish to add from your LinkedIn Learning account.
4. Click Add (3) and Confirm (4). An LTI unit will be created in “draft” status. You can publish your LTI unit once it’s ready.
| Note: This type of unit cannot be edited directly. As an Instructor, you can use the 'Preview course' button to interact with it. This action may count as license usage. |
