To help you personalize and target your content, TalentLMS lets you add smart tags into the course units.
Note: Smart tags can also be added to questions and anywhere the advanced text editor is used. |
To add smart tags to your text, follow these simple steps:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as Instructor and go to a course page.
2. Point to a content unit and click edit.
3. On the editor toolbar, click the settings symbol (1) to open the drop-down list (2).
4. Choose a smart tag to add to your text (3).
The available smart tags are:
- Username: The current user’s username. To add it manually, type “{name}”.
- First name: The user’s first name (i.e., {first_name}).
- Last name: The user’s last name (i.e., {last_name}).
- Date: The current date (i.e., {date}).
- Course progress: The user’s progress in the current course (i.e., {course_progress}).
- Course start date: The date the user has started taking the course (i.e., {course_start_date}).
- Course completion date: The date the user has completed the course (i.e., {course_end_date}).
- Course time: The amount of time the user has spent on the course (i.e., {course_time}).
- Course name: The name of the course (i.e., {course_name}).
- System time: The amount of time the user has been logged in to the system (i.e., {system_time}).
- Completed courses: The total amount of courses completed by the user (i.e., {completed_courses}).
- Certifications: The total amount of certifications acquired by the user (i.e., {certifications}).
- Custom user fields: The list also contains any custom fields added by the administrator. The respective smart tag is represented by the custom field name inside curly brackets (e.g., {job position}).
5. Click Save and view.
In the course view page, you can see your unit with all the personalized information you have just added through smart tags (4).
