The TalentLMS text editor offers an intuitive way to create content. It saves space and provides a clean, wide area for you to work on.
You can start by typing your content. When it’s time for a touch-up, select the word or phrasing you wish to edit, and the text editor’s toolbar will appear.
Note: If you have your content saved in a file outside the platform and wish to copy-paste it, please follow the instructions here. |
Once the text editor's toolbar appears (1), you can easily enhance your text:
- make it bold, italicized, or underlined
- choose a different font family
- choose a different font size
- change the text or background color,
- create ordered or bullet lists, and
- adjust the text alignment.
If you’re looking for more options, select the three bullets on the right end of the toolbar (1), and you’ll be able to:
- change the paragraph’s format,
- the line height,
- decrease or increase the indent,
- add a quote or a table,
- insert an image or a link,
- add a horizontal line,
- add smart tags to make your content a bit more personalized and,
- switch to the code view and be a new-age wizard!
Note: When your code magic is done, you can select the code view button again to go back to the editor. |
These same options also appear if you hit Enter on your keyboard within the text editor. To see them, just select the + button (1) that appears when you hit Enter.
Adding images through the TalentLMS text editor
The TalentLMS text editor allows you to add images by using a publicly shared image’s link, uploading them from your files, or reusing already uploaded files. Here’s how:
- Through the editor’s bar, select the relevant field to add your image.
- In the new pop-up, your first option is to add a link (1) to your image.
- Alternatively, select the cloud symbol (2) to upload an image from your files or,
- Select one of the images you’ve already uploaded to the course (3).
- Once done, you can edit it if needed.
By selecting the image (1) you can:
- change the alignment,
- add a caption,
- remove the image,
- insert a link so users can be redirected to a specific webpage,
- change the display by setting its position relative to text to either Inline so it will be within the text flow or Break text so it will be wrapped around it and lastly,
- add an alternative text to increase accessibility.
Note: Make sure to completely avoid copy-pasting images as they won’t be saved on the platform. This will create temporary links and once expired, your users will be left with broken images. |
