In addition to a broad range of default and custom reports, TalentLMS provides you with a series of useful system stats in the form of an infographic.
To view and export your infographic, just sign in to your TalentLMS account as Administrator and go to Home > Reports (1) > Infographics (2).
Note: If you want to create a custom infographic, see this article. |
Your overall system infographic displays general information about current portal usage and activity. Let’s have a closer look, section by section.
Insights
An overview of user Participation (i.e., the percentage of users assigned to courses that have started taking at least one course), Engagement (i.e., the percentage of users started taking courses that have also completed at least one course), Progress (i.e., the average course progress of participating learners), and Completion Rate (i.e., the average percentage of courses completed by participating learners).
Note: To calculate the additional values when activating the "compare with" section, we take into account only courses and users that were created in the given period (eg. last week, last month). Participation: We count the users that have opened at least one unit in any course. Then we calculate the participation (i.e. participationUsers) as a percentage of: Participation = [participationUsers] / [users that have been assigned at least one course] Engagement: We count the users that have completed at least one course (engagementUsers). Then we calculate the engagement as a percentage of: Engagement = [engagementUsers] / [participationUsers] Progress: We also take into account completed courses. Completion Rate: We only take into account active users in our calculations. |
Users
Your total number of users and how many of them are assigned a Learner, Instructor, and Administrator role.
Course completion rate
An overview of your total course assignments, assignment completions, and how many of them are either “not passed” or still “in progress”. These are also visualized as percentages, either on a pie or a donut chart.
Learning structure
The total number of courses, groups, tests, and surveys, either on your main portal or one of your branches/groups, depending on the specified data source (see Custom infographics).
Training time
The total time spent in your courses by all users, and the five "Most active courses” (in hours), visualized as a line or a bar chart.
Test pass rate
An overview of your total tests, how many of them have been “passed” and “not passed”, and the average passing score. These are also visualized as percentages, either on a pie or a donut chart.
Gamification
The total number of points, badges, and certificates your users have acquired, and the average level your users are currently at. Also, the top three users with the most points.
Library
How many files you or your instructors have uploaded, divided into four general categories: Videos, Documents, SCORM packages, and Tin Can packages.
Potential savings
A series of potential benefits and cost savings (i.e., Less commute hours, Training savings, Better skilled people, Environmental impact), calculated by using the following algorithms:- Less commute hours
= 0.5 × 1.3 × [training time] × 0.5
= 0.325 × [training time]
- 0.5: We consider the average commute time to be 30 minutes (i.e., 0.5 × 1 hour).
- 1.3: 1 hour of elearning is considered equal to 1.3 hours of traditional learning.
- [training time]: The total training time spent in your portal (in elearning hours).
- 1.3 × [training time]: The total training time in traditional learning hours.
- 1.3 × [training time] × 0.5: Approximately half of total training activity requires commuting (the rest is taking place at the office or remotely).
- Training savings
= 1.3 × [training time] × 80 ÷ 20 + 1.3 × [training time] × 25
= 5.2 × [training time] + 32.5 × [training time]
= 37.7 × [training time]- 1.3: One hour of elearning is considered equal to 1.3 hours of traditional learning.
- 80: Each trainer costs an average of $80 per training hour.
- 20: One trainer is required for every 20 people.
- 25: Each learner is compensated with an average of $25* per training hour.
- [training time]: The total training time spent in your portal (in elearning hours).
- 1.3 × [training time]: The total training time in traditional learning hours.
- 1.3 × [training time] × 80 ÷ 20: The total cost for each trainer per 20 learners.
- 1.3 × [training time] × 25: The total cost for each learner per hour.
*The learner cost is based on the average hourly salary in US.
Note: The cost of creating courses is also considered a fixed constant. However, we don’t take it into account here. |
- Better skilled people
= [unique learners that have completed at least one course (see Engagement)]
- Environmental Impact (in Mg CO₂)
= [how much carbon dioxide has NOT been released to the atmosphere due to Less commute hours]
= - [Less commute hours] × 16160 gr CO₂
- 16160 gr CO₂: The average passenger vehicle emits 404 gr of CO₂ per mile, approximately. We consider the average commuting speed to be 40 miles per hour, so, for each hour of commute a vehicle emits 16160 gr of CO₂ (i.e., 40 miles per hour × 404 gr per mile).
Note: Those are only potential benefits, and they don’t apply in all cases. |
TalentLMS also lets you compare your current stats to your previous outputs from a week, a month, or a year ago and you can also extend custom infographics and view stats for a specific time interval.
Just go to the header of your infographic and click the Compare with… button. Then, choose one of the three options (1) (i.e., Last Week, Last Month, Last Year). The difference is automatically displayed on your current infographic under each data item (e.g., +36%).
To export your infographic to a PNG file, click the more symbol and, from the drop-down list, choose Export (2).
