In addition to a broad range of default and custom reports, TalentLMS provides you with a series of useful system stats in the form of dashboard widgets, which are readily available on your TalentLMS dashboard upon login.
Your dashboard widgets display general information about current portal usage and activity.
The default view of the Overview section (1) provides an insight into your portal's active users, assigned courses, groups, training time, and completion rate.
You can customize the widget according to which types of stats you wish to show and you can have up to 5 stats at any time.
Let’s take a closer look at each available option under the Overview section:
Active users
The total number of users with active profiles in the portal.
Assigned courses
The total number of course assignments in your portal.
Groups
The total number of groups in your portal.
Training time
The total time spent in your courses by all users.
Completion rate
The percentage of course completions vs. course assignments.
Training savings (in USD)
The amount saved by training your users on TalentLMS, calculated by the following formula:
Training savings = 1.3 × [training time] × 80 ÷ 20 + 1.3 × [training time] × 25
= 5.2 × [training time] + 32.5 × [training time]
= 37.7 × [training time]
1.3: One hour of e-learning is considered equal to 1.3 hours of traditional learning.
80: Each trainer costs an average of $80 per training hour.
20: One trainer is required for every 20 people.
25: Each learner is compensated with an average of $25* per training hour.
[training time]: The total training time spent in your portal (in e-learning hours).
1.3 × [training time]: The total training time in traditional learning hours.
1.3 × [training time] × 80 ÷ 20: The total cost for each trainer per 20 learners.
1.3 × [training time] × 25: The total cost for each learner per hour.
*Learner cost is calculated based on the average hourly salary in the US.
Note: The cost of creating courses is also considered a fixed constant. However, we don’t take it into account here. |
Environmental impact (in Mg CO₂)
The positive environmental impact of using your TalentLMS portal to train your people due to reduced commuting hours, which is calculated by the following formula:
Environmental impact = [how much carbon dioxide has NOT been released to the atmosphere due to Fewer commute hours]
= - [Fewer commute hours] × 16160 g CO₂
16160 g CO₂: The average passenger vehicle emits 404 g of CO₂ per mile, approximately.
We consider the average commuting speed to be 40 miles per hour, so, for each commute hour, a vehicle emits 16160 g of CO₂ (i.e., 40 miles per hour × 404 g per mile).
Note: Those are only potential benefits, and they don’t apply in all cases. |
Participation
The system counts how many users have opened at least one unit in any course (participationUsers). Then we calculate participation as follows:
Participation = [participationUsers] / [users that have been assigned at least one course]
Engagement
We count the users who have completed at least one course (engagementUsers).
Then we calculate the engagement as follows:
Engagement = [engagementUsers] / [participationUsers]
Progress
The average course progress of participating learners. We also take completed courses into account.
