Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) is a collaboration app allowing users to chat and video call. In TalentLMS, you can use MS Teams for Conferences and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) units.
To integrate your portal with MS Teams:
Note: Currently the integration works with MS Teams Meeting only. |
Step 1: Select a default video conferencing platform (as Administrator)
First, set MS Teams as your preferred conference medium.
Here's how:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as Administrator and go to Home > Account & Settings.
2. In the Conferences section, use the Type (1) drop-down list to choose Microsoft Teams (2).
After selecting Microsoft Teams from the dropdown, you’ll see an option for Maximum capacity (3). Here you can set a limit for the number of users permitted to join the webinar. If left as 0, the default capacity of Microsoft Teams will be applied (100).
Step 2: Connect your MS Teams account to TalentLMS (as Instructor)
Instructors responsible for creating live training events must connect their MS Teams account to TalentLMS.
Here's how:
1. Sign in to TalentLMS and switch to the Instructor role. From the right-hand panel, go to Conferences. Click the drop-down option and select Connect with Microsoft Teams (1).
2. You will be redirected to Microsoft where you will need to log in to your Microsoft account. To complete the connection and associate your TalentLMS account with your Microsoft account click on Accept (2).
Finally, you will be redirected back to TalentLMS and if everything is successful you will see the following screen.
Unable to complete the integration step?
If you’re unable to complete the integration step with your Microsoft account it means that your Microsoft Azure administrator has restricted access to third-party applications like TalentLMS.
For Instructors to use the OAuth App, your organization’s admin of the Microsoft Azure account must set the following settings (Described in full in this Microsoft documentation article):
In Consent and permissions > User consent settings > User consent for applications, choose the second or third option (1).
If the second option is selected then the admin must also set the following permissions as low risk: profile, email, openid, Calendars.ReadWrite, offline_access and User.Read, as shown below (2).
