How to switch between the new and legacy interfaces in TalentLMS

What is the new TalentLMS interface

The new TalentLMS interface marks the next stage of TalentLMS. It features a fresh look with improved navigation and user experience.
It’s developed using modern technologies, allowing for quicker releases of new features in the future.
The new interface isn’t a new product, and it doesn’t come at an extra cost.
The legacy and the new interfaces will coexist, allowing you to freely switch between them at any time.

How to deactivate or reactivate the new TalentLMS interface for your users

The new interface is active by default and is what you and the rest of your users will see when first accessing your TalentLMS portal. SuperAdmins can deactivate or reactivate the new interface at any time, but they must first switch to the legacy interface to do so.

Here are the steps:

1. Log in to your account as an Administrator and hover over your profile image (1) at the top right-hand corner of your screen.

2. Click the Go to legacy interface (2) button.

3. You will be redirected to the legacy interface. From the legacy Administrator dashboard, go to Account & Settings > New interface (3).

4. Click Deactivate the new interface for your portal (4) if you wish users to utilize the legacy interface instead. To reactivate the new interface, follow the same steps.

If the new interface is deactivated, all users of your portal will be greeted by the legacy interface the next time they log in. SuperAdmins and Admins are still able to test out the new interface, even if it’s deactivated. This is important, because the Subscription section of the portal is accessible only from the new interface.

To do so, they’ll need to hover over their name (5) on the toolbar at the top of the legacy dashboard, and click Try it now (6) under the New interface section.

What is the user experience

When the new TalentLMS interface is active, all users will be greeted by the new interface by default.

Note: As long as the new TalentLMS interface is activated through Account & Settings, all users will be shown the new interface on login. If they switch back to the legacy TalentLMS interface (as described below), the system will remember their preference and the next time they log in, they’ll be greeted by the legacy TalentLMS interface.

How to leave the new interface (switch to the legacy interface)

If the legacy interface is active, all users can switch back to it by hovering over their profile image (1) at the top right-hand corner of their screen, and clicking the Go to legacy interface (2) button.

The legacy TalentLMS interface will be here for a while, so users can switch back and forth whenever they want to, as long as it's not deactivated.
