Learning new skills empowers people to achieve their goals more effectively. TalentLMS helps you provide opportunities for your users to learn new skills or improve their existing skills so they can grow within your organization or increase their performance in their current roles while boosting their engagement and motivation throughout their training.
Skills in TalentLMS is a feature that allows you to create new skills on your portal for your Learners to pursue and develop. Use our AI-powered tool to generate brand-new skills on your portal based on your industry’s requirements.
Learners can advance their skills to the next level through an assessment, and they’ll also be able to access a number of potential complementary courses and external resources.
First, let’s take a look at the Skills tab under Account & Settings.
Note: Skills is still in beta and is available to Pro and new Enterprise plans. If you’re on one of these plans and you would like to test it out, please contact our support team. |
To activate Skills on your TalentLMS domain:
1. Sign in to your portal as an Administrator and go to Account & Settings > Skills (1).
2. Toggle the Skills switch (2).
Once you enable Skills, the following options will appear:
Skill Settings
In the Skill Settings section, there are 3 options, explained below:

This option allows you to share the Skills feature with your users, providing them with the chance to increase their experience and personalize their learning path.
2. Activate skill recommendations for learners (2)
Allow users to suggest other skilled users to Administrators, as well as a recommended skill, so that the Admins may potentially provide them with the suggested skills based on the users’ recommendations.
3. Skill levels (3)
Here you can configure if you’d like skills to have more than one level enabled. At the moment, there’s a maximum of 2 levels for skills.

AI Instruction
In the AI Instruction section (1), provide details about your industry or any specific requirements you may have regarding your users’ training and desired skills improvement. The more descriptive your instructions are, the better, so feel free to give detailed context in this section. This will help our AI-powered tool contain more accurate and targeted information regarding the skills your users will develop.
Once you’re done configuring the relevant options for Skills, don’t forget to click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
