TalentLMS lets you send automated emails to notify your users of specific events. Some of these trigger events are related to the course enrollment requests.
The available notifications related to course enrollment requests are:
- On course request submission: Users are notified when a request to enroll in a course has been submitted.
- On course request approval: Users are notified when their course enrollment request has been approved.
- On course request decline: Users are notified when their course enrollment request has been declined.
Here’s how to create these notifications in a few steps:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator.
2. Go to Notifications (1) and select Add notification (2).
3. Type a Name (3) for your notification.
4. From the Event (4) drop-down list, choose one of the course enrollment request-related events (e.g., On course request submission).
5. From the Recipient (5) drop-down list, choose a recipient for your notification (e.g., Course Instructors).
6. Once you’ve specified your recipients, more options will appear so you can proceed with creating your notification. In the notification Body (6) text area, do as follows:
- On the first line, type a subject for your notification email (e.g., New Course Enrollment Request), and press Enter to change lines.
- Then, type your notification (e.g., Dear {instructor_first_name}! The user {related_user_name} has requested to self-enroll in the {course_name} course.
Please accept or decline their request. - Finally, add a footer with some basic notification info (e.g., This email was sent from {site_url} at {time}).
Note: Use the Smart Tags (7) to pull the corresponding information (the user’s username, the Instructor’s first name, the course name, etc.) from your system. In your text, each tag appears in curly brackets (e.g., {course_name}). To each recipient, the notification is sent with the brackets replaced by the corresponding values (e.g., the name of the course that the user requested to enroll into). Specifically for the On course request submission notification, a dedicated smart tag {Course_request_URL} has been added, and the Administrator or Instructor who will receive the email, would be able to click on the link in order to go directly to the course enrollment request. |
7. Click Save (8) to save your notification.
Note: Newly created notifications are active by default. |
