TalentLMS allows you to make courses available in the course catalog and manage which users can self-enroll in certain courses using course enrollment requests.
A. How to enable course enrollment requests for a course:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or an Instructor.
2. Go to Courses (1) and select the course you would like to edit (2). Alternatively, create a new course.
3. Go to Course options > Availability (3).
4. Select the Enable enrollment request (4) option to enable it.
5. Click Save (5) to save your changes.
From now on, users will be able to request to self-enroll to this course and the course Instructors will be able to accept or decline the request.
Note: This setting cannot be enabled if the course also has a price assigned. With an assigned price, users pay to access the course immediately with no need for further approval. |
B. How to approve/decline requests:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or an Instructor.
2. Go to Courses (1) and select the course (2) you would like to check the enrollment requests for.
3. Select Enrollment requests (3).
4. Hover over a user and click the check mark (4) to approve their request or the X mark to decline their request.
Note: You can use the Search (5) option to search for specific users, or the Filter (6) option to filter by a specific group or branch. |
Note: You can select multiple users by clicking the checkbox next to their name (7). This allows you to use mass actions (8) to accept or decline requests for multiple users at once. |
What actions can the Learners take:
Learners have access to this feature through their course catalog. More specifically, if a course has the Enrollment requests feature enabled, they can:
- Request access to the course (1): They will request permission to self-enroll in this course, which will be sent for approval to the course Instructors.
- Cancel access request (2): While their request is still pending, Learners can cancel their access request.
Next steps:
You can send a notification to the users to let them know their request for access has been approved or denied. You can also send or receive a notification each time a user requests access to one of the courses. See how in this article.
