TalentLMS’s course builder allows you to manage the composition of your course and its units in the course outline.
To add content to a course:
First, log in as Instructor and either create a course or select an existing one to edit its content.
Note: Content can only be created or edited by the courses' assigned Instructors. Your profile must be assigned to the course before you can access the course content. Administrators who want to edit the course need to be also assigned to it with the Instructor role. |
Note: The total number of units and sections in a course cannot exceed 1000 items. |
There are two ways to start adding content:
A. Drag-and-drop files
Simply drag and drop the files you want in the content area.
If you select to upload a video, a PDF file, and a SCORM file at the same time, you are automatically creating three different types of units. You can edit to change their names and unit completion method.
B. Click the ADD unit button
Click the Add button to specify the type of unit you want to add first from the drop-down list. The options are:
- Content: type your text, upload images and use our editor to further customize the content.
- Web Content
- Video: upload your file, capture a video or search YouTube with the use of keywords or by directly pasting the video's URL.
- Audio: upload your file or capture an audio.
- Presentation|Document: upload your file.
Note: Uploaded documents (e.g. pdf, ppt) are converted by default into web compatible formats and are displayed through a third party service. When administrators choose to disable the Modern Viewer option from the portal settings users will not be able to view the documents on mobile browsers. |
- SCORM|Tin Can|cmi5: upload your file.
- iFrame: insert other website pages as iframe units. They can be viewed as embedded or in a new window.
- Test: to test your learner's knowledge.
- Survey: to collect feedback.
- Assignment: if you want to review and grade the answer.
- Instructor-Led Training
-
Sections: help to organize the course material into logical entities
Note: If you leave the unit name blank, the system will automatically add a number as unit name, which is the current unix timestamp. It basically represents the time of the unit creation. |
