When you need to copy and paste content to your TalentLMS course from another source, it's important to paste it as plain text, to eliminate any formatting that the text might already have. Otherwise, formatting issues may appear, or you may get an error mentioning that your content cannot exceed X number of characters. There are two ways to safely copy content, e.g. from a Word document and paste into the TalentLMS editor:
A. Use Notepad or a simple Text document
1. Select the text you want to be copied from your Word document and copy it.
2. Open a Notepad document or a Text document and paste your text there. The formatting is removed, but new lines and paragraphs are kept intact.
3. Copy your Notepad content and paste it into the TalentLMS editor.
4. Add new formatting.
B. Use a keyboard shortcut
An alternative when you copy content from any source and you want to paste it as plain text in TalentLMS is to use one of the following options while using Chrome, Firefox or Safari:
- Chrome
1. Select the text you want to be copied and copy it.
2. On MAC: Use a keyboard shortcut, Cmd + Shift + V
On Windows: Use a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + Shift + V
or, Right-click in the content area and select Paste as Plain Text. - Firefox
1. Select the text you want to be copied and copy it.
2. On MAC: Use a keyboard shortcut, Cmd + Shift + V
On Windows: Use a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + Shift + V - Safari
1. Select the text you want to be copied and copy it.
2. Use a keyboard shortcut, Cmd + Shift + V
Note: The above applies to text. Make sure to completely avoid copy-pasting images as they won’t be saved on the platform. This will create temporary links and once expired, your users will be left with broken images. |
