To help you personalize your content, TalentLMS lets you insert smart tags into course units. These placeholders are automatically populated with information from your TalentLMS portal when a learner views the content, allowing you to create personalized learning experiences with minimal effort. Each of the smart tags described below will be pulling the information pertaining to the learner account consuming the content at the given time.
Note: Smart tags can also be added to questions and anywhere the advanced text editor is used. They are not currently available in TalentCraft units.
To add smart tags to your content:
1. Log in to your TalentLMS account as an Instructor, go to Courses (1), and click Edit (2) next to the course you want to access
Note: You can also follow these steps while viewing the portal as an Administrator, as long as you’re enrolled in the course with the Instructor role.
2. Click the unit you want to edit.
3. Place your cursor where you want to insert a smart tag.
4. From the editor toolbar, click the three-dot icon (3), then select the smart tags icon (4).
Note: If the + icon does not appear when you click a text field, you have two alternatives. You can double-click to bring up the editor menu, or you can highlight a word or phrase with your cursor (for example, First Name) and apply the relevant smart tag so it is replaced with its corresponding value, such as {first_name}.
5. Choose a smart tag (5) from the list.
