If a course is missing from the Course Catalog, the reason is usually related to the Course Settings, course capacity, user permissions, or branch configuration.

Here are the most common reasons a course may not appear and what you need to check.

A. The course is hidden from the Course Catalog

Course status and Course Catalog visibility are separate settings. This means an active course can still be hidden from learners.

Check the course's Availability settings and make sure “Show in catalog” is enabled.

If multiple courses are affected, you can also change their visibility through Courses > Mass actions.

B. The course is inactive

Only active courses can appear in the Course Catalog. A course can have the setting “Show in catalog” enabled and still remain unavailable to learners if its status is inactive.

Check the course status from Courses and activate it (1) from the Course Settings if needed.

C. The course has reached its capacity

If a course has a capacity limit and the maximum number of enrollments has been reached, TalentLMS prevents additional self-enrollments, and the course is removed from the Course Catalog.

Check the course's Availability settings and review:

• The course capacity (1).
• The total number of enrolled users.

D. The learner's user type cannot access the Course Catalog

If a learner can't see the Course Catalog at all (not just a single missing course), their user type may not have the required permission.

Check the learner's user type under Account & Settings > User types and review its Course Catalog permissions.

E. The user is not viewing the portal as a Learner

The Course Catalog is part of the learner-facing interface. An Administrator or Instructor won't see the Course Catalog that Learners see.

Switch to the Learner role and access the Course Catalog from the learner interface to verify what is available.
 

F. The course is not assigned to the learner's branch

Each branch has its own Course Catalog. A learner signed in through a branch can only find courses that are assigned to that branch.

Check the affected branch's Courses tab and make sure the course is assigned to it.

This is especially important for restricted branches, where learners may only be able to access the portal through the branch URL.

G. Branch courses are hidden from the main Course Catalog

Courses assigned to branches can also be hidden from the Course Catalog on the main domain.

If a course appears in its branch but not in the main Course Catalog, check the account-level setting that controls whether branch courses are shown on the main catalog.

H. A Learning Path was removed from the branch together with its courses

When you remove a Learning Path from a branch, its courses can be removed with it.

If several related courses disappear from a branch's Course Catalog at the same time, check whether their Learning Path was recently removed along with its courses.

If the courses should remain available, assign them to the branch again.

I. A Course Catalog filter is applied

A learner may have filtered the Course Catalog by category. When a filter is active, courses outside the selected category are excluded from the current view and may appear to be missing.

Ask the learner to Reset the Course Catalog filters and check again.

J. The course has been deleted

Deleted courses no longer appear in the Course Catalog or in regular course lists.

If the course was deleted accidentally, an Administrator may be able to restore it from Reports > Timeline using the Course deletion event.

The restoration option is available only for the last 30 deleted courses.
