TalentLMS lets you reuse your content multiple times in as many courses as you need. This way, your courses can function as a type of “learning library”.
For example, if you add a survey at the end of a course for your learners to share their experience, you can then clone the survey and reuse it in another course
Note: You can clone content only from courses you own as an Instructor. |
Here’s how to use your “learning library”, in a few simple steps:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Instructor, go to Courses, and click Edit next to the course you want to clone a unit to. The course editor page will open.
2. Click Add (1) and select More > Clone from another course (2).
3. From the drop-down menu, select the course (3) you want to copy the unit from and the original unit (4) that will be copied.
4. Click Clone (5).
The cloned unit has been added to your course (in “draft” status), followed by the “(clone)” indicator (6). You can freely edit it and your changes won’t affect the original unit it was copied from.
Note: The objects comprising the original unit (e.g., test or survey questions, xAPI objects, etc.) are all included in the cloned content so they can be reused regardless of what happens to the original items. Note that any audio and/or video files you may have added to those test questions won’t be cloned. |
If you need a faster way to reuse content from your courses, you can always link to a unit instead of cloning it, as described in this article. A linked unit is pulled from its source every time you access the course, and it’s entirely dependent on the original unit. When the original is updated, all linked units are automatically updated.
