TalentLMS lets you define the order by which your Learners complete their courses to create paths and lead them through your training program.
To set prerequisites for your courses, follow these simple steps:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or Instructor and go to Courses (1).
2. Locate the course you want to update and click Edit (2).
3. Click on Course options (3) and select Limits (4).
4. On the drawer that opens on the right side of your screen, scroll down to Prerequisites (5) and choose one or more courses as prerequisites from the drop-down menu.
Note: If you select multiple courses, all of them must be completed before the course becomes available to Learners. |
You can also select Add alternative path (6) and make the course available to Learners who have completed either of the available paths.
5. Click Save (7) to update the course options.
Learner view
On a Learner’s homepage, courses that have prerequisites are marked with the relevant icon (1).
On the summary page of each course, there’s an additional Course prerequisites section (1) if you scroll down, where all the prerequisites are listed, but also a button (2) to direct you to the specific section.
Learners now have to take their courses in the instructor-defined order. If there are alternative sets of prerequisites, learners can attend and complete either set of courses before accessing the course you are creating the learning path for.
