TalentLMS lets you lock course content so it cannot be edited by anyone who does not have permission. This option is available for Administrators and Course owners.
The Course owner is the person who created the course and has Instructor user-type permissions. When a Course owner with Instructor user-type permissions locks the content, they cannot edit it. To edit content again, they will need to unlock it first.
To have the option to lock the course content, Course owners and Administrators need to have the relevant permission on their Instructor role user type to Update a Course (1).
How to lock course content:
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or an Instructor and go to Courses.
2. Click to Edit (2) the course you wish to lock.
3. Below the course name, click Course options (3) and then Info (4).
4. Scroll down to Content Lock and toggle on Lock content (5).
5. Click on Save (6) to apply the changes.
A lock icon (7) appears next to Course content to indicate it cannot be edited and the options to add, edit, or reorder units are hidden.
Note: When a course is locked, its units cannot be cloned or linked to another course. |
When course content is locked and you hover over the lock icon, a tooltip appears with the following message: “Course content is currently locked for editing. Unlocking requires the course owner or administrator. Learn more.”
How to unlock course content:
To unlock the course content, click on the lock (7) icon and scroll down once more to Content lock to toggle off Lock content and click on Save once more as per screenshot items (5) and (6).
