TalentLMS lets you use smart tags in both your custom notifications and certifications to pull personalized data from your system, including a user’s score in a specific course.

Here’s how to add course scores to your automated emails and certificates:

A. In your notifications

1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator, go to Notifications (1), and click Add notification (2). Alternatively, you can edit an existing one.

2. Give your notification a Name and, from the Event drop-down list, choose one of the following events (e.g., On course completion):

• On course completion
• X hours after course completion
• On course failure
• On course expiration
• X hours before course expiration
• On certification acquisition
• On certification expiration
• X hours before course expiration

3. From the Recipient drop-down list, choose a recipient for your notification (e.g., Related user).

4. In the Message body text area, type your notification text.

5. Click Smart Tags and select the Average course score (3) option from the drop-down to include the course score (i.e., {course_avg_score}) in your message.

5. Click Save (4) to create your notification.

B. In your certifications

1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator and go to Account & Settings > Courses (1).

2. Scroll down to the Other section and click the arrow next to Certificates (2).

3. Edit the certification (3) you want to add the course score to or create a new one by clicking Add certificate.

4. At the end of the Certificate body area, click Smart Tags and select the Average course score (4) option from the drop-down to add the course score (i.e., {course_avg_score}) in your text (i.e., the text wrapped inside the <span> HTML tags).

5. Click Save (5) to save your changes.
