Among other Learning Activities in TalentLMS, you can evaluate your learners’ progress with tests. Here are the available question types:

• AI generation: Generate multiple-choice questions with AI, where learners must choose one or more correct answers from a list of options.
• Multiple choice: Learners select one or more correct answers from a list of choices.
• Fill the gap: A phrase, sentence, or paragraph with a blank space where learners provide the missing word(s).
• Ordering: Learners arrange the answers in the correct order.
• Match the pairs: Learners match pairs of information together.
• Free text: Learners respond to open-ended questions in text form.
• Randomized: Questions are drawn randomly from a pool of existing questions.
• Import: Import questions created outside the platform in GIFT or AIKEN format.

How to add questions to a test

1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Instructor, open the Courses menu, and click Edit next to a course. The course editor page opens.

2. Click Add (1), then select Test (2) from the learning activities section. Alternatively, select an existing test unit to edit it.

3. On the right-hand panel (3), you will see all available question types. Click the question type you want to add.

Let’s create one question from each type!

AI generation

1. Click AI generation, enter your prompt (1), and select the number of multiple-choice questions (2) to add to the test.

2. Click Generate (3) to create the test questions.

Multiple choice

1. Click Multiple choice, type your question in the content area (1), add all the possible answers (2), and mark Correct (3) for the correct answer(s).

2. Click Save (5).

Fill the gap

1. Add your text, use [brackets] (1) for possible answers.

2. Click Save (2).

Ordering

1. Add your text and all possible answers in the correct order (1). 

2. Click Save (2). 

The answers will be mixed for the learner.

Match the pairs

1. Add your text (1) and the possible matching pairs (2) in the correct order. 

2. Click Save (3).

Free text

1. Compose your question (1) and add keywords that should or should not be included in the learner’s answer. Each keyword adds or removes points (2).

2. Enter the number of accumulated points required for the answer to be considered correct (3).

3. Click Save (4).

Managing test questions

Once a question is created, it’s automatically added to the question list of the test.

To edit, remove, or delete a question, click the vertical ellipsis icon (⋮) (1) next to it and choose the desired option.
