If needed, TalentLMS lets you restrict users from enrolling in courses by themselves.
You can do this in three ways:
A. Edit their user type to limit permissions.
B. Set a price on courses to require payment before enrollment.
C. Enable enrollment requests, allowing Administrators or Instructors to approve access.
A. Edit the user type
1. Sign in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator and go to Account & Settings > User Types (1).
2. Click on the user type you want to modify (e.g., Learner-type), to update its permissions.
3. Under the Learner section (2), locate Course Catalog and uncheck Acquire Courses (3).
4.Click Save (4) to apply the changes.
Note: Disabling Acquire Courses removes learner access to the course catalog entirely. You will need to manually enroll users in courses. For more details, see this guide. |
B. Put a price on your courses
1. Sign in as an Administrator, then go to Account & Settings > Integrations (1).
2. Under the e-Commerce Processor section (2), select and enable a default payment processor. You can choose between PayPal and Stripe.
3. Go to Courses (3), then click Edit (4) next to the course you want to modify.
4. Go to Course options > Info (5).
5. In the Price section (6), enter the course fee.
Note: To change the currency for paid courses, go to Account & Settings > Portal, then select your preferred currency under Locale. |
6. Click Save (7) to apply the changes.
Now, users must purchase the course before they can access it.Repeat these steps for other courses as needed.
C. Allow users to submit enrollment requests
You can also enable enrollment requests, allowing users to express interest in a course. These requests must be approved or rejected by an Administrator or Instructor.
