The Course Catalog is a collection of courses your Learners can browse to pick their next courses and self-enroll.
To configure a course to be available in the course catalog, you’ll need to make sure the course is Active (published) and that it’s not hidden from the catalog.
To hide/unhide the course from the course catalog:
1. Log in as an Administrator and go to Courses (1), then click Edit (2) next to the course you wish to configure. The course editor page will open.
2. Click on the Course options (3) button and a drawer will appear on the right side of your screen.
3. Switch to the Availability (4) tab, and toggle the Show on Course catalog (5) option to hide or unhide the course from the catalog.
4. Click Save (6) to apply your changes.
How to access the course catalog
All users can access the course catalog from their Learner (1) dashboard by selecting the Course catalog option (2) from the main menu.
From there, users can filter the courses by category (3).
Before enrolling in a course, users can click the title (4) to view more information about it, as well as its full description. To enroll in the course from the catalog, Learners need to click the Add (5) symbol.
If course enrollment requests are enabled under Course options, then a hand icon will be replacing the Add button. Read more in this article.
Courses can also be sorted by Name, Date, Price or Rating (6). Using the arrow to the right, a user can change the order of sorting (e.g. A-Z or Z-A etc)
| Note: The above information applies to registered users who log in to your domain. You can also make the course catalog available to non-registered users, who can access it from your homepage. |
Branches and course catalog
Each branch has its own course catalog, depending on which courses are assigned to that branch.
To configure the branch course catalog:
1. Log in as an Administrator and go to Branches (1), then select any branch to edit (2) it. The branch options page will open.
2. Switch to the Courses (3) tab and add courses to the branch (4) as needed.
You can assign the same course to multiple branches if you so wish. Any changes you make to the course at the branch level will be reflected across the portal.
Alternatively, you can create courses directly while logged in via the branch URL and these will be visible in the branch course catalog, as well as in the catalog of the main site.
| Note: If you wish for courses you’ve created directly within the branch to not be visible on the catalog of the main site, see this article. |
Hiding the course catalog from users
You may wish to hide the course catalog completely from certain user types, e.g., Learner-Type users, and not allow them to visit the catalog at all.
To do so, you’ll need to log in as an Administrator, go to Account & Settings > User types to edit the permissions of that user type and disable the Course catalog (1) permission from their role.
